Vera's Burger Shack in Pitt Meadows has been selected by TIMES readers for two separate distinctions: best hamburger in the 12th annual TIMES Readers' Choice Awards and best hamburger in town in an separate online contest held by The TIMES.
Maybe it is the "extreme flavour shots of the usual suspects" (toppings), or the fresh six-ounce patties, or the burger names like The Canuck, The Stringer, The Big Chick, and The G-Money, or maybe it's the passion of the owner Rocky Sharma. Whatever the reason, the people have spoken - twice.
Vera's Burger Shack started as a beach concession in 1977 and has grown to include 15 franchises, including Sharma's Pitt Meadows location, which he opened in 2011.
While Vera's won first place in the competition, White Spot, Green House, Roast Bistro, Kingfisher Bar & Grill, Shake & Shingle Pub, Ridge Bistro, and Billy Miner Pub all received rave reviews. |
