OPERATING SAFELY DURING COVID-19
In response to COVID-19, we have made several changes and additions to our standard operational procedures so that we can provide a safe environment for our staff and guests. These changes are designed to keep our staff and guests safe as well as contribute to combating the spread of COVID-19. We have prepared a detailed COVID-19 Protocols Manual for our operations which is updated regularly. These measures are summarized below.
PHYSICAL DISTANCING
- In the dining rooms that are open we have created distance between tables and blocked off those that cannot provide adequate distance between parties
- Where distance cannot be met at the point of ordering, plexiglass guards are installed
- Clear occupancy limits are posted in each area of the restaurant to ensure proper distancing inside
- Designated signage for pick-up areas (for guests and delivery services) has been installed in all restaurants to encourage physical distancing between guests
- The Vera’s mobile app is available for all guests to order and pay before arriving, reducing numbers of guests waiting to order in-store
REDUCED CONTACT OPERATIONS
- The Vera’s mobile app is available for all guests to order and pay before arrival for touchless service
- Reduced tableware (i.e., take-out and single-use packaging will be used for both dine in and take-out)
- Dine-in food delivery will be from a single point at each table, eliminating the need to reach over or come in contact with guests
- Designated areas have been established for mobile and delivery orders to be picked up
INCREASED CLEANING, SANITIZING, AND DISINFECTING
- Increased cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting of all surfaces throughout our restaurants
- Certain high contact points will be disinfected after each use. Other contact points will be disinfected at least every 30 minutes
- The chemicals and cleaning procedures used by Vera’s are effective in combating the spread of germs and viruses, including Covid-19
HYGIENE
- Hand washing best practices will continue to be followed by all Vera’s staff
- Hand sanitizer is available for guests and staff to use at all Vera’s locations
- A health screening process has been created for all staff to review before each shift
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
- Face masks and / or face shields are available to all staff members
- Gloves are available for all staff to use when handling cash and cleaning
TRAINING
A COVID-19 Protocols Manual is available to all franchisees and their staff detailing all COVID-19 related precautions
